World Space Week 2026: Rocket Revolution on Florida’s Space Coast

Events at the CAPE is proud to support and promote World Space Week 2026 across Florida’s Space Coast as communities around the world celebrate this year’s theme, “Rocket Revolution.” From October 4–10, 2026, visitors, families, students, aerospace professionals, artists, and space enthusiasts are invited to experience a week of educational, cultural, and entertainment-focused events that showcase the growing impact of space exploration on our lives and our future.

The 2026 theme, Rocket Revolution, highlights the rapidly evolving landscape of space launch technology and the next generation of commercial and government spaceflight. What was once led primarily by national space agencies has expanded into a dynamic ecosystem that now includes commercial launch providers, reusable rocket programs, universities, research institutions, emerging startups, and new national space programs. This transformation is increasing access to space, accelerating launch activity, reducing costs, and creating new opportunities for scientific discovery, economic development, communications, national security, and human exploration beyond Earth.

World Space Week is observed annually from October 4 through October 10 and commemorates two defining milestones in space history. On October 4, 1957, humanity entered the Space Age with the launch of the world’s first artificial satellite, Sputnik 1. On October 10, 1967, nations signed the Outer Space Treaty, establishing principles that continue to guide the peaceful exploration and use of outer space.

Each year, thousands of educational programs, exhibits, festivals, workshops, conferences, museum activities, public lectures, and community celebrations take place worldwide through schools, universities, space agencies, museums, science centers, aerospace organizations, and local communities. World Space Week has become the largest annual public space celebration on Earth, inspiring curiosity, innovation, and international cooperation through the shared wonder of space exploration.

Located at the gateway to America’s space program, Florida’s Space Coast provides a unique setting to celebrate World Space Week. Through Events at the CAPE, attendees can discover space-themed festivals, educational experiences, networking opportunities, live entertainment, art exhibitions, film screenings, stargazing programs, and community events that highlight both the history and future of spaceflight. With rocket launches visible from many locations throughout the region and the presence of world-leading organizations such as NASA, SpaceX, Blue Origin, and United Launch Alliance, visitors have an opportunity to experience firsthand the innovation driving today’s Rocket Revolution.
